[TexasN=Catherine Wahrmund] Candidate John Jun (Korean name Jeon Young-Joo) is making a final push to capture votes in his bid to become the first Korean member of the Texas State House of Representatives. On Wednesday, October 31, just one day before the close of early voting (November 1), Jun made an appeal for support from voters at the Coppell City Hall and Town Center Plaza (255 Parkway Blvd.) in Coppell.

According to Jun’s campaign, he is dedicated to winning the Texas House District 115 election, stating, “From early morning until sunset, I will work wholeheartedly to establish policies and systems that reflect the values of justice, fairness, and the spirit of our times.” He is focused on securing every last vote before the polls close.

Candidate John Jun expressed his strong commitment, saying, “I want to work smart to advocate for the rights of Korean Americans and create a better District 115 for future generations.” Former North Texas Korean Nurses Association president, Seo Soon-rye, added her support, noting, “There is no better candidate than John Jun who listens to the Korean American voice, understands its nuances, and can convey that sincerity in the state legislature.” She urged any Korean American voters who haven’t yet participated in early voting to be sure to vote on Election Day.

Jun remarked, “With many undecided voters still out there, the final 72 hours will be crucial.” He plans to canvas the district until the last vote is cast, meeting voters in Carrollton and Farmers Branch on November 2 (Saturday), and then focusing on Edison and Dallas on November 3 (Sunday). He will hold his final campaign event in Coppell on November 4 (Monday), the day before Election Day.

Known for his strong face-to-face campaign style, Jun plans to conduct his “Thank You for Voting” campaign on Election Day, November 5, personally greeting voters at the polling stations.

The John Jun campaign emphasized, “Now is the time for a dedicated public servant like John Jun to enter the Texas State House to advocate for the rights of Korean Americans and prepare for our future.” They encouraged the Korean community and supporters to join him at polling stations near their homes to extend greetings to voters, noting that increasing such interactions is expected to heighten voter turnout and Jun’s popularity.
